Roger dropped us off at a new hostel where we'll be spending the night on beds. REAL BEDS. We've also already showered (it took me about 25minutes of scrubbing to actually get clean) and washed all our clothes and hung them on the line to dry. This hostel, and it's owner Oma, are AWESOME-- but I almost think that's another post in itself.
With a fully charged phone and readily available electricity at my fingertips for the next 18hrs, I'm taking the luxury of flipping through photos & using photo editing apps.
Last week, the three of us started noticing that we had a tendency to spontaneously combust within about 10minutes of landing at a shelter or campsite and would have all of our things unpacked and spread out over a large area as if we owned it. We started to walk in to the shelter and just say "claimed", because obviously- the Virginia Monologues girls have arrived and as Hitch (MC) said "we're sortof a big deal". 😄 (although we never said it in the prescence of other hikers because, well, rude).
Shelter for 4 people that we won't even sleep in because we're hammock-ing? CLAIMED.
We gladly moved our stuff and cleared space for new hikers-- this is all probably more of a testament to our lack of organizational skills and trying to figure out what goes where. Hopefully next week we won't be exploding packs as soon as we plop down anywhere.
But if you're a hiker and you get in past nine pm, and the answer to Lifeguard's "do you have a reservation?" Is "no", you just might hear us chime in unison "CLAIMED".
